1. Smeg BCC02
This sleek compact and striking machine, created by Milan-based company Deep Design combines the brand's retro style with cutting edge technology. This machine handles all stages of making coffee from grinding beans to the tamping of a puck and texturing milk to dispensing the right amount.
The machine also sports an elegant brushed aluminium front and is available in black, red or taupe, meaning it'll easily fit into the majority of kitchen designs. The machine does not come without flaws, however. bean to cup coffee makers felt that it was quite expensive for a cup to bean maker (and does not come with an ice cube).
However, there were numerous positive reviews of the quality of the coffee and the ease of use of this machine. The digital display offers information and step-bystep instructions throughout the entire process of brewing that will help you perfect your drink every time. It will even alert you to tweak the grind size if it's not exactly right. It's like having your own personal barista at home (minus Elon Musk's rocket building abilities and Harry Potter's invisible cape).
If you like milky drinks, this model features a steam wand that's adjustable in both directions to accommodate all drinking vessels, but not a Viking's drinking horn. We were also impressed by the speed and efficiency in how the frothing was accomplished. It creates a delicious, full-flavoured espresso with a great crema.
The BCC02 is a fantastic all-rounder that's quiet, effective and provides excellent value for money at its current price of PS499. The only problem is that it does not offer the same level customisation as other bean-to-cup machines we have examined. It has a 15 bar pump instead of the usual 19 bars, which isn't as good for producing quality espressos. But other than that it's a fantastic machine to make coffee for those who like their coffee strong and black. Click here to check out Lavazza's great deal.
2. Melitta Barista TS Smart
The Barista TS Smart has a range of characteristics that distinguish it from the rest of the competitors. Its most unique feature may be the fact that it is able to be controlled from your smartphone with the Melitta Connect App. This allows you to change settings and dispense different coffee recipes that are stored in the machine itself.
This makes the machine super flexible and able to adapt to your preferences. There are plenty of options to alter the strength of your drinks, as well as different sizes of cups and even whether or not to add milk. The machine has two airtight containers of beans that are automatically selected to accommodate different tastes. It will default to standard espresso beans in one, and cafe creme (a German variation of long black or flat white) in the other, but you can choose whatever beans you like. There is also a chute that can be used for pre-ground beans if you prefer to make your own.
Users have also been amazed by the speed of the machine. They have reported that it is able to make their drinks faster than other machines they have used. The machine also alerts you if one of its hoppers is nearly empty. This means that you won't run out of your favorite drink.
The only thing that may be a problem for some people is the price tag. The machine isn't cheap, at nearly PS999. It is still cheaper than comparable Jura machines with the same number features.
Barista TS smart is protected by a generous two-year warranty. This is more than the typical one-year warranty. It is a sign of confidence on behalf of the manufacturer. The machine comes with a cleaning tablet and descaler. This makes it simple to maintain the machine. This is an excellent machine for those who are looking for a top-quality and versatile bean-to-cup machine that's affordable.
